rammed earth house construction in morocco

this is the process of rammed home construction in morocco. i helped these guys build my house which are amazingly warm in the winter and cool in the summer. this is centuries old technology but the epitome of appropriate technology, using local materials and geographically appropriate.

sorry i was a peacecorps volunteer there in 2007 i have no idea. most of the work is done by local builders that arent very organized.

they laid 3 logs across the spans i think you can see it around :45 seconds in the pan. but they didnt use any rebar too expensive.

did they reinforce lintels above doors and windows to prevent cracks ? (with iron bar for example)
