  • Anchor speaks out of his arse when he says sufism is responsible for widespread islam in indian subcontinents. It was downright forced conversions and JIZYAH that made it attractive to convert.

  • Indian media today is "dumbing down the news", making "black and white" simplistic pictures for Indian consumers

As a result, most ppl in India today are getting a very simplistic picture of Indian politics.

    E.g. Congress = secular, BJP = communal

without knowing if this is actually true or not.

Your comments about MM Joshi were honest and revealed some of those impressions, and u admitted that what u thought about him initially might not actually be true.

  • Yes, that is what I am suggesting.

reason is, that most indian newspapers treat the "nationalist" or so called "Hindu nationalist" part of Indian politics as a pariah because of its RSS background (because of Mahatma Gandhi's death). As a result, most of their understanding and presentation of the views on "Hindutva" are shallow and not based fully on facts.

Media in India today is sensational and shallow, a fact mentioned just recently by N. Ram (himself of the Hindu and of Bofors fame)

  • I am confused, Monty..

Do you suggest that.. I should not believe the reports that come from a reputed NEWS agency like The Hindu established in 1878?

Correct me, if I am wrong, please.

  • Hi,

By the phrase "someone like you", I meant someone who thinks of the people associated with Hindu nationalism as morons and somehow outdated dinosaurs.

Basically people who think Hindu nationals are not relevant in today's Indian society.

Also, by the phrase "someone like u", I also meant - someone who forms his opinions on the Hindu nationalists, based on our present day visual and print media, (which in my opinion is the worst institution in India today).

    Regards.

  • Hey Monty!

You've mentioned the phrase 'Someone Like You', to describe me, twice in your comment.

Can you explain me what exactly does that phrase mean, I mean.. what did you intend to say?

    Thanks.

  • He has a doctorate in Physics.

Its refreshing to see someone like you admit that you are surprised to find that someone who you thought was "Hindu fanatic" is actually intelligent.

I urge you to conduct this research even for some other people who you think might be morons in the Hindu movement.

You will find that you knew very little about them, and your opinion was based on very little knowledge.

I am happy to see someone like you admitting that, and trying to learn.

    Best of luck.
