I'm hoping that we'll see the Enterprise and some Andorian ships (mostly use their own fleet rather than become part of Starfleet even though they are one of the Federation's founding races, much like the Vulcan Science Academy, there is the Andorian Defense Force) up against the Gorn.

Man i really want to protect the federation but my raptor gots ass kicking to do.

Actually, I kinda agree with you on this. Not that battles aren't fun, but it is mostly about exploration and what we might face or find out there, and that to me is the awesome part. However, Cryptic has promised that there will be plenty to explore as well, because after all, they've watched and analyzed over 700 startrek episodes, so I'm sure some of that rubbed off on them. But you got to understand, to most people Battles and Fights is all they understand. Still I can't wait for this game!

I think the federation is the biggest fraction, apart from the borg, of course.

Though the members (the other worlds and races i mean) of the federation are not interested in aggressive expansion, unlike the other fractions (Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, Dominion, Borg etc...).

In short, federation is interested in peace (to protect each other and to learn from each other in every possible aspects), focused on defense and hi-tech.
