I take her outside with me everyday so she can feed on the native trees that grow around my neighbourhood and to have a climb, get some sunshine, fresh air and hear the bird calls (she oves it!) so she's used to outside. Her primaries were clipped quite alot and probably won't grow back until her next molt. She's jumping/fluttering further distances toward me now at the word "jump." ur birds are so lucky! enjoy them! :D
Go on with recall training, reward each "jump" with lots of treats and praise, make her stay a long time outdoors, and when one day she flies high, recall her loudly. Subscribe Yahoo freeflight list and learn more. Good luck. Isabel
i want an amazon! theyr so quirky! i have a rainbow lorikeet and i love her to bits. she's getting quite agressive on my shoulder tho. :( she has clipped wings (her rearer clipped them) and she jumps/flutters to me when i call her- do u think this would progress to flying to me when she grows her primaries back? :D
I have 2 loris (yellow bibbed) and they also free fly. But they are very aggressive to the amazons and it is difficult for me to bring all of them outside. The loris fly very fast! Train with +R the recall and get her used to the outside in a cage, before releasing her. But you must wait for the primaries grow back. Go slowly and carefully and join freeflight group in Yahoo.

Your Toby is wonderfully trained. I also should do some trick training with my amazon.
