So it's 1960 and you go to the local Ford dealer to check out the '60 Thunderbirds. The salesman shows you this convertible that just came in. This is what a brand new Thunderbird looks like although several people took it for a test drive. There are only a little over 1,000 original miles clocked on this car! Absolutely brand spanking new Thunderbird. This baby is powered by the sturdy V8, 352 cid with 300 horses. The larger V8, 430 cid with 350 horses was available also. Production of 1960 T-bird convertibles amounted to 11,860. So maybe with an estimated survival rate of 10%, perhaps only 1,100 of these convertibles still exist. The price tag on these ran about $4,222 - a pricey sum in 1960. I couldn't risk taping the interior but seeing it I can state that it was astounding. Also delightful to the eyes was the original and rare wire wheels and the continental kit mounted on the rear. I hope you enjoyed this time travel with the fantasy of being at the dealer and negotiating the purchase of this Thunderbird. You bought it! The sold sign is on the windshield. Thanks very much for viewing this brand new 1960 Thunderbird convertible.
