Hi, is this available on 1998 Mercedes E320 (W210)...especially if I have the new-style chrome key? Thank you...
-
@coriander2 No. The gearshift is locked and will not release without a proper key being verified. If someone (for instance) breaks the window and gets in, they cannot take the vehicle out of park unless it first verifies that a valid key is present (either in the ignition or inside the car via keyless-go). If they attempt to shift without a key present the car immediately shuts down. We spent alot of time to make sure that the entire factory anti-theft system remains completely intact.

@Jasontwt4ever Thanks for the answer. Doesn't this remote starting facility make the car easier to steal? I appreciate that the doors are still locked(?), but that is fairly easy to get past.

@coriander2 if youre somewere in realyyyy cold temps?

@coriander2 warming up the car, right before an enthusiastic drive :D

One word, awesome!

Very good, but I don't understand why would you want to remote start your car? What's wrong with starting it when you sit in the drivers seat?
-
but why

That is one sexy car. You need two weeks just to get used to that key.
Great Tech, but way too many damn steps

you press one button to start the car.... how much easier should it be?

Clearly you need to re-watch the video, because he pressed more than one button. In fact, he pressed a series of buttons.

actually since i designed the starter *and* im the guy pressing the buttons, take my word for it.. you only press one button to start the car....
The video demos alot of features besides the start but you only need to press one button to start. check out the annotations i made on the video to see what each one does...
