  • If you are looking to do many ideas of watch dials, then you should use illustrator instead of photoshop. This tutorial is best for when you are looking to create a final rendering of your best design for a presentation.

There are ways to create multiple designs in photoshop, it is just not shown in this video. The main purpose is to show you how to create a high end rendering for a final design presentation. Hope that helps.

  • I could learn from this video..nice job Ross;)

  • thats some pretty cool watch ,Id buy it if it was real

  • Honestly like most of you said AI, but i find it kind of time consuming to do a design on two softwares. I seriously hope to do designs in photoshop instead of Illustrator coz pen tool in photoshop is much more easier than illustrator. Kudos to you guys that you are able to master the pen tool in illus, but for me, i jsut dont get it!

  • That is true, there should be a illustrator tutorial too. When you design a watch dial then to get a nice, realistic effect of depths and shadows you have to use drop shadow, blur etc effects in AI. The main 2D tool is AI in this industry, you can get the drafts and graphics of from this application.

  • I dont know... I have been working in watch industry for a while and I can not really see how can I adopt it to my workflow. If you work on dial you work on 2d AI files and if you want to do the shape you are in 3D programs. Photoshoping like this really doesnt give anything for the workflow. client wont like it, that you spend so much time on a picture not a design. But car industry is different and footware, those tutorials should be for this.

  • Nice man! I'll be buying that stuff off ur site soon I hope!
