Drinking poop water through a life straw

My students were learning about chemistry solutions to problems of contaminated water worldwide. One technology they researched was the LifeStraw. I decided to put it to the test by drinking muddy water with cow poop added. Although the taste was fine, it was incredibly difficult to get water to pass through the tube. Overall, a bit disappointing!
