  • Thank you so much doctor , i didnt combine infection and breathing problems , i asked about each one separatly thanks once again :)))

  • @mssuperblondie

    Oh ok. You're welcome. :)

  • Oh well ! Then doctor can you tell me when rhinoplasty lead to breathing problem like cant breath good or snoring and is there really a chance to get a serious infection

  • @mssuperblondie

I don't know what you mean. Breathing problems and infections have nothing to do with each other. They are separate issues. Infection is a risk of any surgery anywhere on the body. Furthermore, you can get nose or sinus infections without ever having surgery. Also, breathing problems need to be evaluated and examined to determine the cause. A good rhinoplasty should not create breathing problems or snoring unless you heal very poorly and your septum buckles.

  • Hi doctor can closed rhinoplasty be done with local anes without sedation only local like going to dentist

  • @mssuperblondie

Yes rhinoplasty both open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty can be done under purely local anesthesia or under local anesthesia with sedation. However, it is not a pleasant experience to go through because numbing shots to the tip of the nose hurt a lot and its just not something patients choose to do. Also, most of the time when surgeons do a nosejob under local anesthesia, its in their office to cut cost and cutting cost for an elective surgery on your nose isn't smart.

  • thank god i dont needa nose job wooo but if i did i would come to u dr, naderi :)

Cartilage is to a Rhinoplasty Surgeon what wood is to a carpenter. Its important to have a good source of cartilage for grafting and support. Usually it comes from your septum, ear or rib. It can also come from tissue banks (donated rib from cadavers). All are usually very safe. However, cartilage from ANOTHER rhinoplasty patient makes no sense and does not sound sanitary or safe. I hope you misunderstood what he meant. You should clarify this with him.

  • Wow...this really enlightened me.

Dr. Naderi: My doctor mentioned that he would add cartiledge to my nose. He also mentioned that he may harvest cartiledge from previous rhinoplasty patients. Is this sanitary and a normal procedure for doctors?

  • @ohmysoles There can be crusts and dry or wet scabs inside your nose which should clear up with time. However, you should see your surgeon to be examined to make sure there are no areas of infection. I have seen other surgeons use implants or permanent tip sutures which can become infected. There have even been case reports of gauze left behind in the nose after surgery. Don't be alarmed but do see your surgeon to be examined.
