Following in the series of bird identification videos, these two Reed Buntings were recorded at Marbury in early May. The distant bird has a more hurried and affirmative delivery compared to the more leisurely song of the closer bird. The closer bird finishes off with a sweet sounding trill compared to the more rattling vibrato of the other. Reed Buntings have a very simple song compared to other Buntings such as Yellowhammers. Although the song may vary in individual birds, the format is usually a few sharp notes followed by a short trill.
