Dim Headlight on Rev

Ok, a slight problem with the 450. When I rev the engine, the headlight goes dim. At idle, it's bright as day. What gives? Yamaha WR450 2006. Baja Designs Wiring kit.

Still haven't bothered to fix it yet. Haven't scheduled a night ride. More than likely, I'll just take it to the shop when I need it to be fixed.

the only thing i can think is bad battery or bad alternator. see if that helps

@charliebaja There is no alternator on this motorcycle, the STATOR is keeping the brand new battery nicely charged. Baja Designs believes it's a floating ground issue, but their tech support isn't the greatest.

@firekraqr I have the same prob with my dual sport but it's a factory light. If you get it fixed, please let me know what your shop said the problem was so I can fix mine. Thanks.

I had the same problem, I replaced the regulator / rectifier. All fixed. About a 60 minute job, 40 if you can remember how everything came unpluged to plug the new stuff in.

I have the same problem on my 250. What was the problem. Was it the rectifier?

Rectifier/regulator failure. replace rectifier.
