This Northern Lights is filmed in real speed a moonlit night in Mars 2011, in Moskosel, Lapland, Sweden. One of my best friends, Ronald Vikström, has composed and are playing the music for this film: http://www.ronaldvikstrom.com/

Enjoy!

    Hej!

  • How often does this happen?

Here in the far north of Sweden, in Lapland we have northern lights almost every night, but there are some problems and distractions. Cloudy weather, full moon and if the aurora oval is to small or weak. If the sky is clear I will say that we see northern lights, of varying strength, 2-3 nights a week. It can appear in a few seconds and then disappear and some nights you will have it for hours, but no one knows!

  • Thank you - this is magical - so much more evocative and peaceful than the time release videos and the music is lovely - thank you both

  • I used to live in Lapland, Finland, and the northern lights are just about the only thing I miss. Where I lived, it snows too often so there's only one or two clear nights per week and you really have to be lucky to see them. And that makes them more special, I think. Especially when they are sometimes so light they're hard to see and don't last long. I didn't live in the northest possible place, so maybe that has to do with it.

  • One of so many awe inspiring gifts of the universe

  • Beautiful...visuals and audio. Thanks for posting.
