Solid Cast Iron "Man" On Ledge Of Empire State Building Prompts Slew Of 911 Calls
In the summer of 2010 there was an art exhibition of a cast iron man.The life-size sculpture was among 31 statues of realistic looking men by British artist Antony Gormley installed on dangerous roofs and ledges of the city's most famous buildings. Tourist were mistaking them for suicide leapers and kept calling 911. Here we have the first due, E1 anf L7 responding on a full assignment including Rescue1. And there was this nut standing next to me cursing away.
That idiot Gormley should be billed by the FDNY for each response, putting a statue in that position is asking for trouble.
