g'(x) is the derivative of g(x)
If g(x) is choosen to be the sigmoid, then g'(x) would be:
g'(x)=g(x)*(1-g(x))

America does do this. Go to coursera, udacity, edx.org. All of these have artificial intelligence courses I believe.
