Mowgli = Tzekel-Kan [ comment about How Mowgli Is So Not Tzekel-Kan and get attacked by my trained flock of evil seagulls. ]

[ Remastered & reuploaded; I started the video somewhere in the beginning of December and haven't make anything to finish it ever since. Lame. ]

Odette is a daughter of a rich plantation owner, who decides to take her to a village, where most of his workers live. Since Odette grew up in a place with no other kids her age, father wants her to play with villagers children. Tzekel-Kan, a young, adventurous boy, immediately takes a liking in the girl. He wants to show her around, but the chief stands in his way, reminding him that he is destined to be a high priest and he shouldn't interfere with white people [he shows him the 'sacred mark' of a chosen one, that should devote his life to suffering, which will bring blessing to the tribe]. Tzekel-Kan, angry and disappointed, goes to the temple, where he watches the cruel images, associated with his religion. Neither Odette nor her father ever come back to the village again.
All of his adult life, spent mostly in a temple in solitude, Tzekel-kan searches for signs of the gods coming to the mortal real - the fulfilment of a prophecy, that would break his shackles of a slave's existence. When he hears the news about the white people coming, he hopes they are the great warriors, that will become the sacrifice to lure the gods.

  • please tell me you haven't dumped this project yet...

  • I love it when people bring in 'plantation slavery/servant' stories. I haven't seen it used in video. I love the creativity of this particular story.

interracial couples are simply lovely. you've shown the innocence of a child and mystified wonder between the two of them as they grew.

Also, the story itself, with the gods and culture, was great to see translated through this.

    thanks!
