After one grandfather was part of the clean up of nuclear material in Japan during WWII with the US Army 82nd Ordinance having his teeth extracted from radiation sickness in Yokohoma, and one grandfather US Navy Veteran worked in Westinghouse on material science with TV inner highvoltage chemical coatings and nuclear submarine battery technology before the nuclear engine. "They should stop", I guess the Nagoya Princess ordered executions per my request of US Naval Intelligence staff.

Yeah, this one scared me too - when the people on this planet got the disease, it was unsettling, and then that the humans would intentionally get the disease too was also scary and poignant. That way, they sacrificed themselves to save the rest of the people on earth.

Right up there with "Zanti Misfits" as the scariest episode...and yet one of the most humane as well.

My comment was actually meant for a clip of another episode, the series pilot "The Galaxy Being." But, yeah, this one was spooky!

one of my greatest memories was the night ''the galaxy being'' aired..i was 9,parents gave instructions to the baby sitter i was not to watch this..i snuck into my parents room to watch...i thought ''gort''was scary...this was like nothing i had ever seen or heard, could not sleep for 2 weeks!what a great memory, and from then on as i watched, i knew the outer limits WAS IT.and to this day..here here.

A very simple effect, voice distortion from transmitting on single-sideband radio. The Being was a man in a black scuba wetsuit and full head monster mask, coated with oil and photographed on a bare set surrounded by small lights. When printed as a negative image, it looked like a humanoid creature made of light with little, constantly moving black flecks. Ingenious and cheap!

I still remember when I was a small kid when the Galaxy Being was sucked out of the TV like monitor...now that was scary.
