In tribute to Christopher Hitchens, a couple of short readings from his work. A brother atheist officer has fallen; I only met him twice but...

  • With any luck, he will get to be remembered as one of the initiaters of a hopefully coming "new Enlightenment". The world could really use that right now.

  • Hitchens has already won - he is immortal - unlike many theists. Coming generations will learn from this great man.

  • Thanks Hitch.... we'll take it from here mate.

  • @TheAtheistExperience Your preaching of Atheism in the 21st century in USA is ofensive. Even after the THOUSAND OF YEARS OF HORROR of atheism in Europe. It is necesary to to start the horror that so many people have suffered because of this bullshit absurd atheism that it only hides the preaching of immorality, hate, and false liar.?

Poor stupid fools. This bullshit TV show of Atheist Experience should be censored for preaching lies, hate and inmorality to the people in USA.

  • Well you had the luck to meet him... twice :) He will be missed around the world!

  • "...we are going to win."

I wonder about that - I think the battle against ignorance and superstition is essentially eternal - there will be no final battle.

We can win some important battles - ensuring a non sectarian education for all children would be a fantastic outcome. Winning the "creationism vs science" war in the public arena would be big part of that.

The religious impulse is a big part of what it is to be human - its not going away - but we can minimize the damage of the worst of it

  • Well done for this. I miss a man I never met

  • In spite of our trivial political disagreements, I must say that this man has had a huge impact on my life and on the way I view the world. I'm a better person for it.

  • Well done!!

  • Christopher Hitchens and Carl Sagan, both died at the age of 62. Too soon, for such inspiring individuals with soaring intellect to perish from our tentative and gentle existence within the cosmos.

  • Well said!
