  • first with a comment as well, i like being in early

funny as f**k: "it would all be he says - she says EXCEPT that it was all caught on tape"

  • I`m an ex-pat Tennessean...I hope this case is prosecuted to the limit! I`m considering moving back...but, I`d like to see this case win for the poor innocent guy who was brutalized for no reason! Set a precedent, Tennessee! Down with the creepy criminal cult!

  • They'll take him down, but not the Westboro Baptist fools. Shows how far money goes.

  • First Amendment is a bitch, ain't it $cientologists?

  • The "Church" of Scientology is not a Church. the whole deal with it being a church is so they can get the Tax benifits.

I hope this guy gets every penny he's asking for and more. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to think Justice might be served :)

  • I hope he wins.

Then donates a million of it to Anon. and Xenu TV

Mark could make shit happen with a nice donation.

  • were completely against the tenets of your faith, then you would feel quite cheated and not a little irritated.

To many believers, supporting an organization that actively dismisses the tenets of their faith is OFFENSIVE, and even explicitly prohibited by their faith, and these believers deserve informed choice. The CoS does not provide this, and they appear to actively campaign against it. Such deceit is unconscionable.

  • I was being facetious regarding the disclaimer/fine print. My point is that these claims are not honest.

If you were a vegan, and saw advertising for a store which claimed all of their products were vegan, and on that basis purchased those products, you would feel irrate to later learn that they manufactured even some of their products from whale blubber.

Similarly, if you were a devout Christian or Muslim etc, and you purchased scn services, only to later learn that even some of their products

  • I don't think there's really a need to put a disclaimer or fine print that only some of it doesn't conflict, a person can come and be as involved as they want to be. Are you in Nashville? Perhaps we could meet in person

  • It does not say 'Some Scientology practices do not conflict with other religions or religious practices." It does not say "Our counseling service doesn't conflict with other religions." There is no disclaimer, or fine print.

I put it to you that 'they' are not so poor in their grasp of language, nor so ignorant of the premise of the dominant religion in the nation of their founder to make these statements unwittingly. Rather, the intent is to deceive.

  • IF that is what is intended in the compatibility statements in Scientology literature, websites, and by spokespersons both official and otherwise, then they (collectively) have very poor communication skills, or they are ignorant of the basis of the religions they've chosen to speak of. Which of these do you suppose is true?

"Scientology does not conflict with other religions or other religious practices. " -WhatIsScn

What does that say to you?
