HIV Orphans.mov - TedX sydney submission 2011

Sadly the most vulnerable orphans in the world will be overlooked for adoption because of fear and ignorance. Whilst other Western countries are allowing families to adopt HIV+ orphans Australia s outdated views of HIV+ currently prevent Australian families from doing so. Yet many families on Australia s waiting lists will miss out. There are so few adoptions undertaken because of over exaggerated fears of child trafficking. Well...Child traffickers have no interest ing HIV+ children. There are million of these children needing families......For them it can be the difference between life and death - literally. Todays ARV's offer a long and wonderful life to these children. We need to rethink this. Like us on Facebook site - Project Hopeful Australia and send a "nudge" to our government to update their views on HIV+ and HIV+ adoption.
