heath would have gotten that oscar even if he hadnt died. people piss me off when they say the only reason he got it is because he died. he was absolutely brilliant as the joker!(and thats an understatement)

Nolan is right.. the Joker is so outside of the real Heath and they are complete opposites, but he thoroughly got inside the mind of the Joker and was so convincing so it was frightening to see someone like Heath play such a monster. Truly an amazing performance
