United Parcel Service (NYSE:UPS) reported Q4 EPS of $1.08, topping consensus estimates of $1.05. Revenues in the quarter were inline at $13.4 billion. Q4 export average daily volume rose 8.7%. For all of 2010, UPS said it delivered 3.9 billion packages, or an average of 15.6 million per day.
The company said it sees 2011 EPS of $4.12-$4.35 vs. analyst estimates of $4.18. UPS also said it expects to repurchase about $2 billion of its shares in 2011. The company said that 2011 earnings would exceed the peak earning level UPS recorded in 2007.
Chairman and CEO Scott Davis said, "I'm encouraged by the opportunities we see in 2011 as UPS continues to expand into emerging markets while demonstrating the power of the logistics capabilities we've built worldwide."
