@soymuyfeliz12 to answer ur question, he got injured in the 2006 preakness and as they treated him, it got worse and then once it got to the point where they couldnt do anymore, they had to put him into an eternal sleep. and now hes in heaven.

gosh...i miss barbaro... but hes in heaven running and playing with the other horses before him.

Not a doubt in my mind that if thing's hadn't gone so tragically wrong for Barbaro in the 06' Preakness that we would've been treated to the best head to head rivalry, in the shape of Barbaro vs. Bernardini, since Sunday Silence vs. Easy Goer in 1989. Barbaro and Bernardini are 2 of the best American conventional dirt colt's to come down the pike in a longgggggggggg time. They both just happened to be 3yr.old's in 2006. I always look back on that year and wonder, WHAT IF??

He broke his legs while preparing Preakness Stakes, after 5 surgeries, he was disnosed laminitis. Both owner and doctor believed it cannot be treated and allowed to have an euthanasia in January 2007.
