his is the 2001-2002 WBBM CBS 2 Works for you image campaign/promo. Some say this is one of WBBM's best looks. But the works for you era; Was short lived. The look lasted only about or less a year. In 10-03 WBBM switched to the current look as of Sep 20,2008. The station will get a new look on Sep 22,2008 with opening of a new newscenter.

  • I don't care what anybody says ain't nothing wrong with gettin a lil' hip for a local network i like it, im representive chi-town all the way

  • @nbc5newsHD Make that 4, now that Mike Flannery left.

  • Station management changed and new management almost ALWAYS implements their own thing. Also, CBS execs at the time didn't really approve of this logo for the station and was pushing a standardization for their O&O stations. This wasn't a bad idea; however, it's not something for a top market station. At the time, I thought it was cool but when I look back at it, it's really a bit too gimicky/corny for Chicago. If you notice, some of the graphic elements from that time are being reused now.

  • Really, I don't mind their logo or idea here. Why were they so impatient and abandon this? It just doesn't make sense...you don't go to being number one overnight. You need to build a reputation, and I personally don't understand why CBS 2 cut this short.

  • I loved this era at CBS 2.

Funny this about the promo is that only 5 people in here are still at the station.

  • OMG! You found it! This short-lived image campaign for WBBM was composed by Joe Houge and performed by R&B star Debelah Morgan.

  • I remember seeing this image campaign and watch their 11:00AM newscasts every day between 2001-2002.

  • You posted this at a more than appropriate time, lol. Hopefully CBS 2's new graphics and news presentation are better than this. They most likely will be.
