Una pequeña muestra de las tradiciones de estos dos paises dividos por un ocenano pero unidos por la historia.

Batallón de San Patricio. Unidad militar mexicana que se formó principalmente con soldados del ejército de los Estados Unidos que desertaron y se unieron a las Fuerzas armadas de México en la Guerra de Intervención Estadounidense de 1846 - 1848. Aproximadamente un 45% eran inmigrantes irlandeses y el resto de otros países católicos. Tomaron el nombre del Santo Patrono de Irlanda.
