Oborogin's Japanese Lesson 2 "A wa B desu." Kore, Sore, Are

Hey, buddy!!

Today, I will go over Japanese Phrase Pattern #1.

Statement Form : A wa B desu. A is B.

Question Form : A wa B desu ka? Is A B?

A indicates Subject, B indicates Object.

You can put Noun & Pronoun into A part.
You can put Noun & Adjective into B part.

Here are some examples.

Statement Form : This is a Pen. Kore wa Pen desu.
Question Form : Is this a pen? Kore wa Pen desu ka?


Q: Kore wa Pen desu ka? Is this a Pen?

A:
Hai, (Kore wa Pen desu.) Yes, (This is a Pen.)

Iie, (Kore wa Pen jya arimasen.) No, (This is not a Pen.)


You can also put Pronoun into A part of Phrase Pattern #1.

Q: Anata wa America-jin desu ka? Are you an American?

A:
Hai, (Watashi wa America-jin desu.) Yes, (I am American.)

Iie, (Watashi wa America-jin jya arimasen.) No,(I am not American.)


These are examples.
You need to memorize "Kore(This)""Sore(That)""Are(That over there)" in order to make Japanese Phrases.
And, also Pronoun" Watashi( I )" "Anata(You)""Kare(He)""Kanojyo(She)" are necessary as well.

Please, try to study this first.

That was a good lesson. (Kore wa 'good lesson' desu.) I like that you started with the grammar first, and versatile words like "thing". I also like the text included in the video.

This helps clarify SO much. The internet is FULL of japanese resources, but none of them explain it like you do in depth. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Learning it on my own is proving difficult but keep comin with these vids and ill have no problem understanding :)
