I have taken the audio track from a collection titled "Gitabitan Live" which I had purchased a good while back. Since making this video, we have moved residence twice in two different states. The original 5-CD set has been misplaced in the transit. Ergo, I cant tell who the singer is.

The lyrics hold a rather esoteric meaning, the gist of which implies that Man has yet to sing that song which was ordained for him from his very beginning. I have tried to piece together this message (hopefully) with appropriate images salvaged off the Internet.

I have heard a similar song in Konkani language...or read it in a collection of poems brought out by Sahitya Akademi.

It is quite probable that Tagore's works have been copied by others in an assortment of languages. Of the more famous "lifters" of his thoughts, Juan Ramon Jimenez (Spanish Nobel laurate) and Pablo Neruda (Chiliean Nobel laurate) come to mind. Should you come across specific Konkani poetry resemblimg Tagore's work, please let me know. Thanks.

Vasant P.Nadkarni has traslated a number of Gitanjali poems in Konkani under the title "Devvaa" but the one I referred to earlier was another Konkani poet.

Thanks a lot.The Konkani poem I referred was in the anthology of Konkani poems brought out by Sahitya Akademi Editor:Bakibab Borkar ( B.B.Borkar).That poem ,I felt,was about a woman waiting patiently for her loved one to return home.

As Supriyo said, many people has 'derived' their song from Tagore and some just copied. At the same time, Tagore also made variation of many songs from across India. This song is not a variation. So the Konkani song must have either been copied or derived from this.
