This is a quick peek inside a General Chemistry lecture class taught by Assistant Professor of Chemistry David Heroux. The course explores light and its interaction with matter, atomic and molecular structure, stoichiometry, chemical bonding, gas laws, periodicity and thermochemistry. Environmental problems such as global warming, water and air pollution, and stratospheric ozone depletion are also presented. This General Chemistry lecture-style class is taking place in Thomas Auditorium, located in Preble Hall.

Of course, students can ask questions anytime during Professor Heroux's class! Here, most classes are interactive, meaning students are encouraged to ask questions -- before, during, and after the class. We don't really do the old-style lecture hall format, as seen in the movies or on TV, where a professor talks for 80% of the class and then allows a short Q&A afterward.
