Labour kept borrowing to keep power, spent money we didn;t have and hid behind our national debt problem! Labour don't have a plan A! They think that cutting VAT back to 17.5% will help! Hello, Ed Ball's/Milliband! You tried this after Woolworths collapsed and didnt work!? No because interest rates went up & our national debt doubled! So they increased it back up to 17.5%! Gordon Brown sold our gold reserves at the bottom end of the market which cost tha tax payers £10 billion!

@TheLiberalKnight. Britains economy went downhill after 1945 simply because the amount of money owed by the country due to the War. They talk about the debt now, it was collossal back then. And so where we may now no longer be the "sick man of Europe", who has benefited from this countires GDP of 2.2 trillion? Certainly not the working classes when, since the 70's, the gap between the rich and poor has got wider. That woman's ideology was a failure, but thats just my opinion!

@Tazza17 Who cares about equality? Equality is impossible. Equality has never been achieved in all of civilized human history. Why bother persuing such an impossible task? Why not help business, thereby increasing wealth on all levels, including the poorest?

You may be an aspiring university academic, but you clearly don't understand history. If I were poor, I would rather live in a bin with my liberties entact that lose my liberties, as socialists want.

@TheLiberalKnight There you will learn about equality and the effect it has on populations as well as how Capitalism is screwing everything up. Just look at academic research within the Social Sciences and what it shows. However, somehow I don't think you'll be convinced. Yes, I am a Socialist and a Feminist and a Marxist, and proud, as an aspiring university academic. I don't think i'll be convincing you as your are clearly right at the other end of the political spectrum.
