Google was the 2009 recipient of the First Amendment Leadership Award, presented by the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation (RTNDF). This video, which was shown at the awards dinner, highlights how our products enable people around the world to exercise the right to freedom of expression, even where governments routinely suppress free speech.

  • What's wrong with China?

    I'm Chinese in Beijing.

There is no free speech at all in China.

    Everybody is enduring the unfair.

The Communist Party is the new emperor. What they do are so ridiculous , but nobody dares to say sth or do sth , because the gov spends large numbers of money on the military .

    Fuuuuck the government.

Youtube is blocked here, but via IP proxy just OK.

  • HAHAHAHA

Ever heard of China? That wasn t in that video of course.

How about comments on the youtube: google freedom of expression being censored and filtered?

How about the blatant misuse of the DMCA automated tools you have put in since Viacom sued you?

I mean seriously... how can you claim freedom of expression on a dedicated channel and filter/censor comments? The video from Google/youtube Germany has only 200 comments after a year. Do you really take your audience for idiots?

  • Why do they keep censoring videos, then?

  • WHAT ABOUT CHINA? YOU HYPOCRITES!

  • I hit "Google's commitment to free expression," and got "An error occurred, please try again later."

  • "Universally accessible" information is ineed a noble goal. I'm glad to see all the repressive governments whose attempts to stifle free speach you have helped to undermine.

It is to bad that when the time came to really test your values, with China, you capitulated. Surprising that you didn't mention how helpful you've been to the free access of information for the Chinese people.
