Zoltan Paulinyi's Statu Viae for violin and 2 pianos - part 2/2. Premiered by Zoltan Paulinyi (violin), Thiago Bertoldi and Leandro Roverso (pianos) on August 5 2009, Sala Martins Penna - Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro.
Full score at http://www.Paulinyi.com and CD at http://www.MusicaErudita.com

Creation has its own goodness and proper perfection, but it did not spring forth complete from the hands of the Creator. The universe was created "in a state of journeying" («in statu viae») toward an ultimate perfection yet to be attained, to which God has destined it. We call "divine providence" the dispositions by which God guides his creation toward this perfection. - Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 302.

A man's steps are ordered by the LORD; how then can man understand his way? Prov. 20,24.

  • This is a very interesting work, and the combination of instruments works well. I would be interested to know why the pianos are so far apart - normal practice in two-piano playing is to have them as close together as possible to facilitate ensemble. I presume you were seeking some particular spatial effect.

  • @PSearPianist I suggest taking a look at the full score available at:

You are right: the live spatial effect, very appreciated by the audience, cannot be completely registered by a stereo recording.

  • @zpaulinyi I suggest taking a look at the full score available at: paulinyi.load.cd/sheetmusic/sm-58756_statu_viae_for_two_pianos_and_violin__full_score.html

  • @zpaulinyi Thank you for that. I have taken a look at the score, and the spatial effect is exactly what you ask for! I like the design of your website - that is a very good way to demonstrate your works.
