  • hi, i dont think it will b the ecu, but your best bet is to go to a small bike garage and ask them and they will tell you and proberly take it out for a good price, hope thts any help

  • alrihgt m8, just bought an sv for myself!!

was just wondering how much it cost to get your restirctor fitted?

  • hi, im not sure because i got it in the final price of my bike because i baught it from a dealership but im guessing about £100 bt thts just an estimate

  • Hi, whats the top speed on the SV650 restricted?

Im trying to have a compotition with my mate.. :s

  • hi, the fastest i had was 117mph on a slight down hill that was all i could get just creaped up to tht spead lol, its now unrestricted and ive had 147 out of it cheers.

  • lol thats jokes i have got a sv650s that is restricted aswell and the top speed i have got mine is exactley the same 117mph, cant wait for my two years to be up then the restrictor comes off wooo lol

  • well a little birdy told me that you can go to many small bike garages and they will take the restriction out for about £60 no questions asked before your 2 years are up, but of course i didnt do that ;)

  • @carty944 147 on a sv650 i dont think so pal they top at 128 my srad gixxxer 600 only does 163

  • have you timed 0-60? thinking about getting this bike with a restriction :)

  • Scotswood Road :)

  • @carty944 aftermarket restrictors are £170 BUT suzuki are now giving FREE restrictors to all applicable bikes IF you have the correct license.

  • hi, i've got a yamaha r125 atm and i passed back in feburary and when i get the money i will change to a bike like this. I have ridden since i was 8 years old and i ride 450 motocross bikes all the time and have ridden 140hp sports bikes before, and i'd just like to say this restriction is bullshit. Why the fuck do i need 2 years to learn how to ride with 33hp? i'm gonna do everything possible to avoid restriciting it, hopefully just throttle pin it and screw it back in when the bacon pull me

  • get a second hand CDI unit for about £50 off the internet. i bought mine from sv650.org for £45 quid and fitted it myself. Its just a unit that you plug in and hey presto. take it for a dyno check to have paperwork to prove restriction.

before anyone says "that wouldnt prove restiction"......

yes i know, just like an insurance certificate doesnt prove insurance. but i am a traffic cop and that is what i have done. as long as its restricted you will be fine.

there is no law on this..yet

  • @morgsgolfer99 hi pal......i bought an sv650s K9 on the 25th of last month after passing my test the same day. i bought a restrictor off the internet second hand for £45 and fit it myself. It is a CDI unit that you just plug in under the seat.

  • whats this bike like restricted fella.......looks ok on the video???

  • got my done now, cost me 180 quid with the blades in the air box and the throttle stop. atho i got told that the 33bhp ecu is 650quid!!!!
