Love the blade design. However, the handle is so poorly designed that it limits the true potential of this blade. In heavy use you need to wear gloves. The edge needs to be reprofiled as the factory edge is horrible. Lastly, batoning with this is a challenge due to the blade only being 1/8" thick. A thicker blade is preferred.

  • man up! its a blister!

  • @Elkidify - I love taking advice about "manning up" from a guy who has a video of himself playing with stuffed animals and bmx video games. You seem very "manly" to me dude.

  • That is my problem with CS. They have good designs. But the quality control is just rubbish. I guess it's all in keeping the price down. I was thinking of getting one of these, simply because they are so cheap. But then they require a lot of work. I have a heavy knife with a wooden handle, and instead of taking a file to the handle I just slid a piece of inner tube over the handle. that took care of some of the torquing in my hand.

    I really like your review.

  • @SpartanJohns - I sent this one out to be sharpened by Justin Gingrich of Ranger Knives - made a world of difference. This kukri is now one of my best choppers. I also added 3 full layers of ranger bands over the entire handle - again night and day difference. In retrospect there wasn't too much I had to do with this other than those two things. I really love this kukri machete now and would highly recommend it if you make those two modifications. Thanks for watching.

  • Did you get Justin to make a handle for this after?

  • @CliffStamp No the triple layer of ranger bands did the trick
