In the classical Indian dance form Bharata Natyam, Abinaya uses facial expressions to express poetic meanings. Using irony and humour the film uses abinaya to show how close East and West can come together before they collide. The barber of banglaore was shot entirely in banglalore India, with professional Bharata Natyam dancers.
