  • This is not live I think. It can be found on Venom's "Temples of Ice" LP.

  • Well all of the other songs on disc 2 of "Kissing The Beast" are live, so I assumed this was a live version of the song too.

  • @ColonelFuckwadd I disagree. Even though the original one by Deep Purple is to me a lot better (of course), this cover is full of energy, and that's for sure one of the main goals of that song. So in my opinion, this cover is successfully done. But that's only my opinion and you have the right to think another way.

  • Compared to the original, awful...just awful..

  • RESPECT!!!

  • I AM THE GODDAMN SPEED KING MOTHERFUCKERS DONT EEEEVEN COMPARE.

  • @sebax776 not eeeeeeven close

  • @UTGoat666 dont think its live. listen at like 1:16 when he sings about new orleans... before he's done with the line the next "cause im a speed king" line starts.

more glaringly though, you can tell there are at least two if not three or four guitars overdubbed at certain points, and venom have only one guitarist.

  • Gillan's voice has no comparisson! Superior quality objectively.

  • @rovibe I think they took the recording straight from the sound desk. In the studio they filtered out the crowd noise from the mic's. Pretty good final result for a live recording, and a kick ass song, too. =)

  • Awesome version! This cover fuckin rocks! The bass player really carries the song, and the lead break is friggin great!

Damn, this isn't the Venom I remember from high school! =D

    Thanks for sharing, r31.
