Some of these pieces are flashes of sublime inspiration from the composer. And, as much as we feel compelled to express the emotions that great singers and great interpretations inspire in us, let's never forget to thank Tchaikovski every time, just because without him having composed this, we wouldn't have the chance to enjoy it in the first place.

Oh, don't we all wish??? Especially after seeing them in the HD presentation in the theaters this winter. I saw it twice and would have gone to hear it again if it had played a third time. The Met is notoriously slow at putting out dvds of their performances.
