Flight of my Radio Controlled Gruapner Hotspot Jet. This 200MPH jet uses a real jet turbine engine that revs at 114,000 rpm

Video taken at RAF Church Fenton, Yorshire, England in 2004

Flown by Dave Wilks and Gary Taylor.

Thought I'd post the original as there are loads of copies that were ripped off google

Enjoy

  • Wow. thats very amazing. :D

but just out of curiosity, how much do those beasts run for?

  • About £2000 to £3000 and cost about £3 pounds per flight in fuel

  • Only 3£ for one flight? o_O

How much fuel goes into one tank? And How long can you fly on one tank?

Great plane, nice flight btw ;-)

  • It has a 2litre Coke bottle inside full of A1 jetfuel (paraffin) with a 5% mix of turbine oil to stop it exploding. I get between 6 to 8 minutes of run time. Then it becomes a glider

  • hey im looking for a rc turbine engine you now where i can buy just the turbine engine???

  • Hi, what's the name of the model because I want to buy one?

  • @XTwina Paraffin and kerosene are essentially the same thing. Depends where you live. I believe in the UK it's called paraffin and US calls it kerosene.

  • Do you use an electric starter spool up the turbine during start up, or is the engine spooled with compressed air?

  • whoa were can i buy one

  • I loved the jet, the flight and the video. Great job to the pilot. It looks like a hell of a lot of fun to fly a jet like that. Alas I can only dream of having something like that.

  • Awesome plane and awesome pilot. Well done. :)
