In the small town on the Adirondacks in New York, known as North River (located on Route 28), the Hudson River is very narrow, and looks more like a stream. Compare that to the Hudson River in New York City, 200 miles to the south! It's MUCH wider and larger down there. The Adirondacks is a great place for whitewater rafting.
