Thanks for posting. Did you notice it that there was only one or two commercials sponsering the news? Then those days tv was free. Now we have to pay for cable tv & sit through 10 commercials to get back to our program? I miss those old cigarette comercials though! lol
As per the ending credits of this newscast, in those days NBC News directly controlled the local newscasts of their stations. This was also the case at WNBC-TV in New York, most notably.
This old news cast is amazing. I am from Chi and didn't remember that the regular newscasters also did the sports. Whats Buddy DiFranco doing today?

amazing that len oconnor got 3 minutes. today a 45 second package is too long.... we used to watch len at the wgn 2am news cast back in the day.....
