@landrovermarv Many teens (black, white, Latino, etc.) do not have fathers in the home or father figures in their lives. They need and desire guidance from positive male role models. That's what the event was about - and encouraging adult men to get involved and consider being a mentor. And it was not just black teens in attendance; whites and Latinos attended, too.
