i don't know why, but i really love this song. it just seemed really pretty and...deep the first time i heard it, like sometimes you read something and just love it, without knowing why? anyway, i was telling someone about the song and i knew it had never been posted, so i felt like making a video out of it.
if you like the song, the album its on is 'sunsets i've galloped into'.
so, i obviously didn't make the song, or sing it. the pictures are mine. (i wish i had the ones from before my cousin 'reset' my computer)

enjoy, please comment and please give the voice a chance! it can be a little grating.....

  • This is a great song from a truly terrific album "Sunsets I've Galloped Into". There are a number of gems off of it.

I don't find find Archie's voice even remotely grating. Very warm and soothing actually.

    Thanks for posting it :)

  • thanks for commenting. i love that album!!! silver coin and east field are my favorites, not counting this.

  • @darkzyxu Beautiful lyrics and music. A real breath of fresh air and a great composition. Well done again Archie!

  • Maybe ashfields and brine or gold flowers rare Time and sweet colombine will brighten the air And all of the sorrows and tears you have known Will be cinders and see where a blossom has grown Far from ashfields and brine Turn to the north wind's cold in your face Ask and you'll find a calm peaceful place A clear-running stream and a forest of pine A morning for dreams and an evening for wine Far from ashfields and brine
  • One of my favorite songs of all times.

  • Many thanks for posting! I came looking for Archie Fisher, and found this: your wonderful post: I love the pictures you've selected, & love the song! This is so good, what would you have done before cousin reset computer? alas!!! Well done!

Many thanks, and may you do more of this fine singer!

  • Beautiful, warm vocals interlaced by poetic lyrics that transport you into a world of beauty and loss, yet a place from where you never want to return...

  • Not heard this before, tho I have some of Archie's albums and have seen him live. This is beautiful. Thanks for the pictures too

  • Haunting melody laced with deep, emotive vocals and poetic lyrics

  • It is a song of lifetimes and love and memories and longing!

Heartbreaking...it chronicles the lives of the common man!

  • I have loved Archie's voice since I forst heard it in the 1960's and it's still thrills me - Thank You

  • There's nothing 'graining' about his voice whatsoever. It's far nicer to listen to than the one dimensional crud shoved down our throats by these talent shows on TV.

Archie's a wonderful performer but his real strength is in his writing. Thanks for posting!
