  • Such beautiful Danish music!! Wonderful. Thanks for posting

  • @alexpjp

    You are most welcome

  • @peipuss I don't want to spit in anyone's drink, but I always thought he was Swedish (from Helsingborg) and/or German (Oldesloe).

  • @wkruit

According to my "researches", most experts agree that he was born in Helsinborg, which at the time was part of Denmark, so I guess he saw himself as Danish; on the other hand, he spent the last 40 years of his life in Germany, it would then be fair to call him a Danish/German composer.

Alleluja.

  • @alexpjp

Yeah... I'd say this is more in the German tradition. After all, the title of the piece is in German: "Lord, if I only have you."

It makes sense, if you leave that nationality-thing out. But to give a good answer - which you deserve - I must concede: my fault was the use of the word `than´ instead of `then´.

  • @peipuss I believe it is correct that he was born in Helsingborg, which then was Danish. Danish-German makes sense!

  • @11Kralle You are right that it only matter what his music was like. I don't quite get the comment about if he was danish or swedish, than he was German. that makes no sense...
