This looks phony, like an old wind up mechanical singing bird cage. I assure you this poor live creature is stranded by the downpour, unable to fly under the hurtling canon shot sized raindrops and shielding her body feathers with her wings, until she shudders from a direct hit and shakes away the droplets..

Even at 1/1000 second shutter speed and sports mode frame grab her tiny wings in motion are still a blur.

@loveofeathers Yeah your right there this bird is bathing if it was trying to repel water it wouldn't be fluffed up or exposed. Birds feathers naturally repel water to a point but when they fluff they lose that repellent factor lets them clean the dust off. Some birds bath this way others take baths in basins, seems to be preference by the species.
