John le Carré: "The United States of America Has Gone Mad"
While John le Carré is famous for his spy novels, he wrote a widely read antiwar essay in 2003 titled "The United States of America Has Gone Mad." He reads an excerpt.
le Carré is only partly right.. these wars were not fought in the interest of the common American or common European for that matter.. these wars were fought in the interest of Israel and in the interest of moneyed globalist elite that knows no loyalty to people or nation.. these were wars of globalization... globalization, the all encompassing ideology of the 21st century... remember 9-11 was an attack on the symbolic 'World Trade Center'...
Yawn! His early books were excellent, but he has clearly lost it. Saddam was a danger to the stabilty of the Middle East. It is a good thing Saddam is now dead and no longer murdering people.
I revere his cold war novels, but I am afraid he has gone completely potty. Listen to his delirium at 6:12 in this interview. Or consider the plot for Tailor of Panama, in which he seriously postulates the probability of the U.S. retaking the Panama Canal with military action. He's become a blubbering old social worker.
So what does this guy have to say about Obama bombing Lybia, intervening in Egypt, and the sanctions against Iran that are hurting Russia and China's economy that will eventually lead up to world war 3?
I thought the daddy-sketch was a bit priggish, but I remember how angry le Carre was at the whole situation. Otherwise, I think he basically nailed it.
yeah john , except we NOW know that crazy joe mcCarthy was largely proven right on much his so called "witch hunt " ...a religious cant on the GW BUSH iraq war ? WTF is le carre talking about ?

Le Carre was a novelist, with only about 3 or 4 good ones. I guess a British accent makes liberals go all weak in the knees.

Sometimes I feel like I'm living in that movie, They Live from the early 90's. All those monsters roaming about and only I can see them.
