@ianpaice91 I realize that this comment is from two years ago, but let me remind you what you said. "I don't like the 1st violin." Anyway, I don't know what it is about him, but I completely agree. Weird.....

@ResidentEvil3030 actually the viola was not popular until Hindemith hit the scene. during bachs time it was considered to be a cheaply made instrument and was often some that a second violinist and sometimes first violinist would dable in. The viola, though a recognized instrument today, was only find here there during and before bachs time. No one was a violist persay for quite sometime. In fact the modern cello could cover most if not all of a violas range, played be an experienced cellist.

Most composers of old disliked the viola. It's rare to find pieces that treat them nicely >.>
Also, generally in four part harmony the alto part is given the crappiest line...nobody really cares about the alto, though it is important.

It takes a lot for a video to be on my favorites list...
Splat, If you like this music, you would know that Viola is important to develop an inner harmony. You are a pretty biased person.

Also... anyone else picking up some tuning issues? You can hear it every once and a while on the individual violins, but as a section, and between the two soloists, I heard some serious quarter- tones in parts.
