I remember seeing this when it was first released, i believe in 1999. I think it won AWN in 2001. Any way, I hope they release this on DVD or even just online somewhere but in high quality. I'd love to see it in HD and they should make some money for such a wonderful product.
This is one of my favorite stop motion animated shorts! It's rich in setting and character design. Not only that, but it is emotionally charged with the humanity of the era. It is truely a beautiful film.
Wow, thanks for posting. I'd never heard of this and found it randomly browsing...I wish it was longer than two parts...well I haven't seen the second part, but it's really good so far.
Isn't it amazing what one can come across while "randomly browsing"? :)
Don't feel alone..not a lot of people are familiar with this piece. I too wish it were longer than it is; however, the length of it does not take away from its effectiveness. If anything it creates an even more dramatic afffect.
Thanx for commenting and I hope you enjoy part II. Peace \/

Once I had read 'A Journal' I got all of Defoe's other books.
