These scones are perfect for a holiday tea! Tart cranberries and fresh orange are throughout the scones, but then a delicious orange glaze sweetens the whole thing up!
@gmaureen Wonderful variation! Many times I will use wheat flour for part of the flour, but I have never thought of using oats. I'm adding that onto my own recipe! Thanks for sharing and I know what you mean about the glaze...so yummy :) You can make it just about any flavor, too. -Cindy P.S. I'm going to post your variation on our Facebook page. I think everyone will love hearing about it!
Cindy, I followed your recipe, but changed one ingredient. Instead of using 2 cups of regular flour, I used one cup all purpose flour and one cup oat flour (made by grinding old fashioned rolled oats in the food processor). The change I made gives them a more rustic texture (and healthier, I hope), but they still baked beautifully in exactly 20 min. Anyway, thanks for this great recipe - it's a keeper - and the glaze is scrumptious.
