  • Sie singt sehr gut!

  • I had never heard June singing Wagner! ~ as with most anything she choice to sing .. BEAUTIFUL - I always said I could listen to her sing the phone book and this proves it.. The voice and skill were exceptional ~ Oh, the good ol days of opera.. MISS THEM - She is my favorite Elvira (Puritani) of all times! and neck and neck with Beverly for Lucia.

  • @dannymaestro I do fully agree with this!

  • Well the reason she sounds so good is that Wagner was about as bel canto as he ever got with this aria in this opera. What a vocal line! Wow!

  • Sehr schön. Zwar ein früher Wagner aber doch bereits ein echter Wagner..

  • This is a very young Wagner. I can´t hear more than fragments of his orchestration or melodies. Doesn´t it sound as a mix of Bellini and Weber?

Still, very interesting to hear, with for example Parsifal (written almost 50 years later) in mind.

  • Technically "Die Feen" is Wagners first *completed* opera. "Die Hochzeit" is a fragment.

  • I saw her perform in this opera at the NYCO concert version. As far as I'm she was the star of the evening.

    Brava Anderson!!!

  • There's an Adagio By Baermann which for many years was thought to have been written by Wagner. Certainly the composer of Die Feen, with its luscious clarinet part, could easily have written it.

This is a lovely performance and Ms. Anderson's voice is all light and innocence--just right for this aria.

  • Die Feen actually wasn't Wagner's first opera, Die Hochzeit (The Wedding) was his first.
