Have you downloaded an iPod firmware, and it downloads in .zip format? Today in this video, I am going to show you how to change it to .ipsw so it is compatible with iTunes.

  • My firmware name is: iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore­.ipsw

    There is no ".zip" at the end of the name. So what should i do if i rename like you guys do nothing happens. HELP ME PLEASE !

  • @cascrazy Umm there is nothing for you to do if it already says .ipsw at the end... you're good to go already. :P

  • @goguda55 Sorry i mean without .ipsw . I typed .ipsw but nothing happend.. HELP

  • @cascrazy Did you check show extensions for known file types in folder options?

  • I kept-on deleting and re-downloading file trying to get ipsw over and over...lol.... spent hours trying to figure this out, you a life saver , thanks dude

  • wow this help me in win 7. instead go for start. press and type in search programs and files " folder option" then move up . then follow the rest.
