This blues is wonderfully conveyed here with Bechet proving his brilliance as both a soloist and exponent of the blues. Who cannot be moved by this beautiful sensitive soprano playing. • @MrJimmienoone Wild Cat Blues was a different session with John Mayfield tbn recorded in NY July 30th 1923 where Mean Blues with Charlie Irvis was a recorded in NY on Nov 14th 1923.

  • Is Charlie Irvis the trombonist, or John Mayfield? Or was "Wild Cat" with J.M. made at another session?

  • You are correct, this was very remiss of me, I have changed the description accordingly

  • May I rectify your presentation: the cornettist isn't Louis, but Thomas Morris injustly forgotten nowadays.
