It's interesting how discussions of cutting degenerate into people calling each other stupid. Everybody calm down. People who cut: you really should get help. People who are insulting them: you're really not helping them feel better, you know. There are better ways to phrase your feelings.

uhm, i read all these comments and drugs and cutting are both stupid, drugs made me lose friends and gain stupid worthless ones, and got me in placement, cutting made me happy for short bursts, ended up putting me in placement, getting me stuck in placement AGAIN to meet people who ended up killing themselves, cutting. I agree with DrNocho1 on his guitar statement and also Zexion98, talking to people does help, even if noone listens. Scars and placement are not fun. dumbasses.

@DrNocho1 what you're saying though likens cutting to the counterculture movement of the sixties. It's fucking stupid. No one takes acid to sooth emotions. there's no proof that acid causes insanity. In fact, there's plenty of studies that show that cutting is a sign of metal illness. oh yeah, its also addictive. Acid isn't addictive. quit trying to defend something so retarded. if you do it, you need to either get help, or drag the razor deeper next time and rid the world of your stupidity.

I'd rather self harm than use other methods such as taking drugs or smoking. I know when I need to stop cutting, how deep I'm allowed to go, and I know that it won't kill me. On the other hand,Drugs and smoking are highly likely to kill you, so I cut instead because it calms you down without wrecking your health. It's also easier to hide. All you have to do is wear sleeves. If you smoke and do certain types of drugs (not all), you end up stinking of it. Cutting helps people cope. That's all.
